What is Flylingua and who is it for?

Flylingua is a platform to connect students with language teachers.

How much does it cost to join?

Joining is free!

How does it work?

You need Skype installed (free download, https://www.skype.com/en/get-skype/), a PC/laptop and the comfort of your home or wherever you are. You create your profile and log in with your email address and password. Once the teacher confirms the lesson’s day and time, you are all set! 

How long does a lesson last?

A lesson lasts a full hour or 60 minutes: it is15 minutes longer than any other provider to fully benefit from your lesson.

How do I choose a language teacher?

On the main page click on “Find a teacher” or  in the "I want to learn" section “Choose a language” to find a broad selection of teachers. Teachers are either “professional” whose credentials have been checked or “conversational” who are native providing conversation classes. Every teacher has a biography, so you can choose the best for you.

How much does it cost and how can I pay?

The price of the lesson is indicated in the chosen teacher’s profile for 1 hour “on-the-go”. Depending on your teacher’s choice you may benefit from a discount on the first (trial) lesson, and from further discounts on a 5-hour “Get started” package or a 10-hour “Go for it” package for which you will receive an immediate 5% or 10% discount. Flylingua charge a 7.5% (excl. VAT) for platform maintenance and user service. Payment occurs via Paypal. Flylingua does not retain your bank account details and will send any emails to ask for them. How can I reschedule?

If you cannot make it to the lesson, contact the teacher through the Flylingua messenger service first to reschedule a time. The teacher will have to approve the new time.

How can I cancel?

Authorized payments are not cancellable. If you cannot make it to the lesson, you must agree a new time and date with the teacher. Purchased lessons do not expire.

My teacher did not show up; how can I be refunded?

You must connect first with the teacher to reschedule. If the teacher fails to reply within 24 hours, you may contact customer service via the Contact form on the top of the page for a resolution through Flylingua.

How do I get quality assurance?

All teachers’ applications with Flylingua are checked thoroughly before being listed. Nonetheless should you have to report any inappropriate behavior from a teacher, you shall contact Flylingua Customer support via the Contact form on the top of the page within 24 hours from the end of the lesson, stating the issue. This will trigger an investigation, potentially leading to the teacher’s exclusion from the portal. In the absence of a report, the lesson will be deemed to have been up to expectation. You have also the possibility to rate your experience after the lessons.
